RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Convincing prospective clients that your agency is the right one to handle their sale
- Make an advertisement to promote the property
- Sending out details of new properties on the market
- Making appointments and showing buyers around a property
- Advise clients on market conditions, prices, mortgages, legal requirements and related matters
WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Starting a career in estate agency is relatively straightforward as it is common to find trainee negotiator opportunities where no prior experience is required and training is given.
SKILLS:
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- The ability to inspire trust from clients
- A positive attitude
- Good negotiation skills
- Good problem solving skills
SALARY:
- Starting salaries for Real Estate Negotiator are RM5,000 to RM10,000
WORKING HOURS:
- 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
WORKING CONDITION:
Sales negotiators spend much of their time working in a comfortable office environment but they will be expected to travel frequently to housing developments and individual houses to show clients around. They usually manage to work to a nine to five timetable but weekend work is commonplace since many potential clients are only able to meet at week-ends. The job can be stressful, particularly when sales negotiators are trying to reach and exceed quotas and expectations. They are also the first point of contact for clients when things go wrong, which can add to the stress.
