4Kos Membuka Cyber Cafe? - Wed 20/Feb/2008 12:15pm
Hi Kenny, I think for cybercafe one of the difficult hurdles now is to get a license to operate it because I understand there's a freeze on new licenses. I have done some research about this a few months ago, maybe we can discuss more - feel free to email me techventurer@gmail.com

6Basic Franchising Questions - Tue 22/Jan/2008 10:33pm
Hi Jonathan, thanks for your detailed explanation. If I'm opening the franchise in Singapore I might own it myself. But if in JB or other parts of Malaysia, my plan is more to join with some Malaysian partners (anyone interested???) - to share the ownership of the franchise (probably I have to contribute more in terms of investment while they contribute more in terms of daily management). In this case, am I allowed to be listed as a joint owner of the franchise, or cannot because I'm not local? First line you mention owners must register company in order to operate. But how come in most of those franchise forms there are separate sections for individual and corporate application? This make me think that individuals themselves also can franchise and operate the business without the need to register company. Seems like if operating in Malaysia, maybe it is easier for franchise to be owned, and business to be registered under the names of Malaysian partners. Then behind the scenes we work out our own profit-sharing agreement. Does such an arrangement have any negative points? By the way Jonathan, it seem like we are the only one discussing about this, so maybe we can continue through email to share business opportunities and ideas. Mine is techventurer@gmail.com.
7Basic Franchising Questions - Mon 21/Jan/2008 10:50pm
Yes what I meant was - can a franchise be owned by an individual or a group of individuals, or must these people register a business first (either sole proprietorship, partnership or company) and then use this business to apply for ownership of the franchise? I am from Singapore and am considering some of the Malaysian F&B franchises such as 1901 hotdog, Daily Fresh and Baguz Bytes. If I were to open an outlet in Singapore I am considered an international franchisee? And am I allowed to open a franchise outlet in JB/Melaka/KL, or do I need to find some local partners or proxies? Where can I find a copy of this Act. Is it on this website?
