| Streamyx is the most dominant xDSL broadband service in Malaysia offered by Telekom Malaysia (TM Berhad) via its subsidiary; TM Net. It replaces the aging dial-up service under short code 1515. At first, the maximum speed offered by Streamyx was only 384kbps. Now, it tops out at 8Mbps. Because it is delivered via the existing vast copper based telephone network, Streamyx enjoys wide coverage in Malaysia. This is the go-to broadband service when other services are not available in your area.. When you apply for Streamyx, you don't just get broadband Internet connection. You will also get telephony and IPTV services with the latter marketed under the brand HyppTV. 20Mbps download speed is not fast enough? Good news. TM is now offering UniFi 30Mbps and 50Mbps and you can apply it with us. Even better news are, it is cheaper than 20Mbps and comes with premium HyppTV Packs. Doesn?t make sense right? If it is cheaper, then why would anyone wants to apply for a lower speed? Well, these are the differences: It comes with lower upload speed. For 30Mbps packages, the download speed is 30Mbps but the upload speed is only 5Mbps. As for 50Mbps packages, the upload speed is 10Mbps. It doesn?t come with unlimited free calls to TM fixed line nationwide. If you make any phone calls regardless to TM fixed line, other fixed line or mobile phone, the rate is fixed at 20sen/minute.
