Mentah geotextile juga dikenali sebagai mentah weedmat.

Digunakan secara meluas di malaysia didalam kawalan rumput (grass) dan rumpai (weed) bagi kegunaan di dalam bidang pertanian seperti di ladang kelapa sawit (palm oil), kebun sayuran samada secara manual ataupun fertigasi (fertigation) yang menggunakan system pembajaan secara saliran otomatik (irrigation system) dan untuk tujuan landscape dan landscape design.

Penggunaan mentah geotextiles dapat menggantikan sepenuhnya penggunaan racun rumput dan racun rumpai (herbicide) dan sekaligus mengelakkan kerosakan tanah dan penggunaan bahan kimia didalam proses tanaman. Plastic silver shine yang sebelum ini banyak digunakan bakal merosakkan tanah disebabkan air tidak dapat menembusi plastik tersebut berbanding Mentah geotextile. Mentah geotextile / weedmat diperkuatkan dengan kandungan UV yang tinggi mampu bertahun sehingga 5 tahun.
