KUCHING TRIP ? 28/6/13 to 30/6/13
Day 1
From the airport, proceed to Serikin, a village that lies at the border of Sarawak and Kalimantan. The Journey is about an hour from Kuching. It is famous for shoppers for its weekend market which sells households items, decors, textiles, clothes, bags, accessories and also food and spices, many of the products are from neighbouring indonesia. Prices can be cheaper than Bandung..Serikin is also famous for its close proximity to the Khatulistiwa. Wear light cotton dress and shade.
Lunch at Tasik Biru and then proceed to Kuching city to check in at hotel.
Evening ? visit the famous Satok weekend market and later dinner at Top Spot Seafood.
Day 2
7.30 am ? Visit Semenggoh Rehabilation Centre to see orang utans (98% genetically similar to homo-sapiens...that?s us!) in their natural habitat. Visit the gallery and see the orang utans birth certificates..etc (truly our 2nd cousins meh..)
10.30 am ? Proceed to the Sarawak pottery cottage industry, a pepper mill, the salted terubok fish outlet (freshly prepared on order only) and the famous Sarawak layer cake outlet (taste the cake, and you?ll never forget!). Take home for friends or your own consumption.
Lunch at the malay village and later continue the journey to Damai beach. On the way u will see Gunung Santubong and Taman Budaya. Than proceed to Kg. Buntal, a fishing village where u will take the Wetland river cruise to the south china sea. Here you will be sighting the Irrawady dolphins, Proboscis monkeys (orang belanda), Silverleaf monkeys and crocodiles in their natural habitat. The cruise is approximately 3 hours. Bring along your binoculars for best view.
Day 3
For Package A: Free and easy. U can walk along the Waterfront and shop for souvenirs at India Street and Main bazaar. The hotel is within walking distace to the main bazaar, waterfront, eateries, banks, shopping complexes and the most photographed spot, never miss the cat monument.
For Package B: Proceed toTaman Budaya for the Rainforest World Music festival or Bako National Park. (Excluding entrance ticket.)
